Alex is the head of strategic partnerships at Alibaba.com for the Americas region.
He is responsible for driving growth of Alibaba’s B2B business in Americas through development of innovative partnerships and commercial solutions to meet the evolving business needs of B2B wholesale buyers and sellers in the region. He is focused in helping and enabling local entrepreneurs, small and medium size companies to grow their businesses through the Alibaba.com e-commerce platform, and its various sourcing, sales distibution, and business services.During Alex’s career Alibaba, he has served as director of marketing and business development leading the market entry of Alibaba.com into the Latin America region and helped build the market presence in the region from the ground up. He has also served as the Head of Licensing and Partnerships for Alibaba Group’s Digital Media and Entertainment business, spearheaded media entertainment licensing and commercial partnerships in US and Europe region.
Prior to joining Alibaba.com, Alex spent more than 5 years managing PayPal global digital marketing strategies, analytics, and operations for both domestic and international markets covering 120 countries. And prior to PayPal, Alex worked at HSBC Bank as an analyst and product marketing manager focusing in growing the company’s financial service business.
Alex is a University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) graduate with double degrees in economics and sociology.
